Event description

Description

To celebrate Ireland’s electronics industry, MIDAS, the cluster organisation helping define and develop the future direction of the Irish micro and nano-electronics based ‘system solutions’ industry invites you to its annual conference entitled "Innovations in Electronics - Enabling a Bright Future”

Established in 2000, today MIDAS has over 60 member organisations from across the island, including multinational companies such as Analog Devices, Intel, Xilinx, Qualcomm, Johnson Controls and ARM, along with indigenous enterprises such as S3, CW Engineering, Firecomms and SensL Technologies and third level institutes such as Carlow IT, UCC, UCD, TCD and QUB.

With generous sponsorship from the IDA and Enterprise Ireland as well as industry partners Analog Devices, Cadence and Cypress, the 2017 conference will take place on the 30th November at the Clayton Hotel, Ballsbridge. This will be followed by a Gala Dinner in the hotel, at which the inaugural winner of the MIDAS Ireland Lifetime Achievement Award will address the gathering.

Today as internet related technologies continue to expand their influence on the way we live, work and communicate, electronics plays an integral part in this process. Indeed electronics is the key enabler for many of today’s inventions and innovations as multiple business sectors look to make their products ‘smart’ and/or connect their services to the ‘cloud’. With this in mind, this year’s distinguished conference line-up includes:

  • Mr. Josh Walden, Snr VP and GM, New Technology Group, Intel Corporation

  • Mr. Peter Real, Snr VP, CTO at Analog Devices

  • Mr. Dermot Mulligan, Assistant Secretary, Innovation & Investment, Dept. of Business, Enterprise & Innovation

  • Dr. Colette Maloney, Head of Unit, Competitive Electronics EU Commission

  • Dr. Johnny Walker, The Hermitage and ‘Health Founders

  • Dr. Enda Bates, Assistant Professor, Music & Media Technologies, Trinity College Dublin

  • Mr. Donnacha O' Riordan, Director, Microelectronics Circuit Centre Ireland

  • Mr. Hans Ehm, Lead Principal Supply Chain, Infineon Technologies AG

As spaces are limited please register on link above by Nov 15th for both the conference and gala dinner.

We look forward to seeing you at the end of November.

Best Wishes,

Leonard Hobbs
