At Pompeii Pizza we stone-mill flour for our wood-fired artisan pizza, and we want to share a few of our secrets.

On September 3rd we're holding a one-off, half-day workshop where we'll take you on the journey from growing grain & milling flour, to making dough & baking bread & pizza in our wood-fired oven.


You'll get to:

  • Make your own sourdough loaf, baked in our wood-fired oven.
  • Meet the man who grows the unique heritage grain & see it ground into the flour you use in your own baking.
  • Learn from one of our professional pizzaiolos how to stretch a dough ball into a pizza base, then try it for yourself.
  • Taste the fruit of your labours in a lunch-time pizza feast.
  • Take home your newly acquired skills & put them to the test.


If you're interested in food provenance and want to get hands-on with the processes involved in making sourdough bread & artisan pizza, here's your chance to learn about and try it out for yourself, in a wood-fired pizzeria.


Going back to the 12th century, monks were baking & brewing on the site where the Franciscan Well Brew Pub now stands, setting ancient precedence for the activities taking place here today. So while you're here, you can follow your workshop with a tour of the brewery to dive into the history & the beer-making.
