About this event

Have you been experiencing stress or burnout during the last 18 months (or perhaps for longer)? Maybe you've noticed physical signs of stress such as low motivation, migraines, teeth grinding, lack of energy. Are you looking for a new approach to taking care of your mind and body? Or, you might be interested in learning more about mindfulness and developing a daily meditation practice.

The MBSR course is designed to help you learn new tools for living with greater ease, joy, resilience and balance. Mindfulness is one of the greatest gifts you can offer yourself and those you share your life with. MBSR is a world renowned evidence based programme developed by Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn at the Center for Mindfulness (CFM), University of Massachusetts Medical School almost 40 years ago.

This course is participatory, supportive and structured and is open to anyone who would like to invest time learning new ways to enhance wellbeing and live life with awareness and presence.

This course will be held online. It will consist of:

A 2.5 hour Orientation evening on Wednesday September 29th from 7-9:30pm

Weekly 2.5 hr sessions: Wednesday nights 7-9.30pm (GMT) 6th Oct - 24th Nov 2021

All Day Retreat Saturday 13th Nov 9am-4.30pm

Plus daily home practice as outlined below.

  • A 2.5 hour session once a week for 8 weeks
  • One experiential day retreat during the course
  • Daily practice of 45-60 minutes on all non-class days during the course
  • Mindfulness Practices including a variety of meditations
  • Gentle yoga and body movements
  • Interactive exercises to develop mindful awareness and presence

  • Valuable life skills for developing emotional, mental and physical well-being
  • Enhanced clarity, concentration and enthusiasm for life
  • Techniques for living in the present moment
  • Increased self-awareness and self-understanding

  • An understanding of what gives rise to stress and how to deal with stress and anxiety more effectively
  • Positive communication and relational skills
