We will practice being together in safe and restorative ways. Tending, befriending and reconnecting with what really matters.
About this event
In her wonderful poem, 'The Summer's Day', Mary Oliver reminds us of the bliss of knowing savouring the day and paying attention to the little things that are all around us, connecting us, nourishing us; and she asks us by the end: 'tell me, what is it you plan to do with your wild and precious life?'. This summer's day mindfulness retreat is the perfect way to take some time, in the hidden heartlands of north westmeath, to practice paying attention to the simplicity of a day and perhaps ponder a similar question or discover a different question beneath.
We will look after your comfort needs and include a nourishing lunch, as we pause in the middle of the calendar year and cultivate awareness, balance and appreciation of the lives we are living, right here and now. We will practice a series of mindfulness meditations that will focus on bringing awareness to this sensational life. We will move between shared friendly quiet time together, practising stillness and movement, indoors and outdoors, and reflecting on what really matters in thsi moment and beyond. When we practice attending to our present moment, in this way we allow ourselves to stop the outside chatter and the internal chatter to be and to rest as is. We may discover we can let go of old stories in new ways; to listen to the quiet unspoken voice that knows how to be, knows how to care and knows that we are perfect just as we are.
