Museum Engagement and Digital Technologies

The nature of the museum visit is changing: emerging digital technologies are providing different possibilities for how people engage and interact with physical artefacts in museums. At the January workshop, participants will be provided an overview of emerging 3D printing and digital technologies. There will be a particular focus on how these technologies are being used to engage people into, and re-appropriate museum artefacts and collections.

There will also be a practical element to this workshop, where participants will be provided with the opportunity to actively learn and experiment with digital modelling tools. No previous knowledge is necessary.

This event is organised by the Interaction Design Centre and the Hunt Museum and coincides with the Limerick City of Culture 2014
