The Dutch bass-baritone, Maarten Koningsberger, began his musical career as a pianist but then studied singing with Max van Egmond, Udo Reinemann, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, and Margreet Honig. Maarten Koningsberger made his opera debut in Les Indes Galantes by Rameau with the Opéra Comique. He has sung in operas from Monteverdi to W.A. Mozart to Menotti. This diversity of styles is also reflected in his song recitals, with pianists Graham Johnson and Rudolf Jansen and with lutenist Fred Jacobs, with whom he performed in concert halls and festivals all over the world. His concert tours include Europe, South Africa, the Far East, China, Israel, USA and Canada.
