Description

The Military Archives is delighted to be taking part in this year’s National Heritage week campaign, the theme of which is ‘Nature and People’. Members of the public are welcome to take a guided tour of Cathal Brugha barracks which will take in the architecture of the barracks and give visitors a chance to experience our working and natural environment. Features of the tour will include a visit to St Patrick's Garrison church which is adorned by a stained glass altar window by Evie Hone (1849-1955), the Military Archives (formerly a barrack hospital) and The Red House, which was General Michael Collins’ private residence when he was Commander in Chief. The tours will be led by Commandant Stephen MacEoin, Officer in Charge, Military Archives and booking is essential.
