Teagasc and the Dept of Agriculture will introduce the new plant health regulations and how you can prepare for them.
About this event
The event is hosted by Teagasc and will be delivered by staff from The Department of Agriculture Food and the Marine (DAFM) and Teagasc. It will help growers, garden centres and landscapers to prepare for changes in plant health legislation specifically relating to, plant passports, labeling and tracebility. The scale of the college nursery should demonstrate how growers of a small scale can address these changes with limited resources.
- Presentation on plant passports, tracebility and Protected Zone categories
- Demonstration of an assembled plant order and attaching of labels and plant passports
- Demonstration of set up of a basic label system (HLS Pro) and how the plant passport system will be implemented in Kildalton College nursery.
- Overview of how the main nursery stock software programmes will address the changes
- Discussion and question and answers
Tea and coffee will be served on arrival from 1.30 with presentations starting at 2pm.
