Galway folk music act Niall Teague and Padraic Joyce will launch their new album in March 2023 with a series of live shows including Matt Molloy's Westport. 'What Will We Be' is a unique collection of songs with a sound that speaks to fans across the spectrum of folk and Americana. Featuring Niall and Padraic on acoustic guitars and vocals, Maidhc O'hEanaigh on double bass and Neil Fitzgibbon on fiddle "The sound is absolutely beautiful, melodic and beautiful, I’m blown away” (Keith Finnegan, Galway Bay FM). Niall and Padraic have honed their craft as songwriters and performers since their partnership began in the musical melting pot that is Galway city. Recent successes at the Panceltic song contest and Oireachtas song contests have spurred the duo on to the completion of this new album . Their title track ‘What will we be’ features contributions from percussion wizard, Jimmy Higgins and haunting driving melody from both Padraic Joyce and Neil Fitzgibbon on guitar and Fiddle. There is a definite theme of escape in their track ‘Come away with me’ as well as loss, celebration of people and places on tracks such as ‘Martin and Tom’, ‘Guitar Gold ‘ , ‘Memories of you' and 'Achill Island'. The album moves seamlessly from minimalistic folk ballads such as ‘Galway Ghost’ to full string ensemble accompaniment in Tracks such as 'Neptune'. Much of The albums collaborative work including string arrangements by Eoin Corcoran performed by 'Treo' was supported by the Arts Council of Ireland and recorded at Paddy Jordan Recording Studio Labane, See www.niallteagueandpadraicjoycemusic.com for more info.
