About this event

What is NStEP Class Rep Training?

NStEP’s Introductory Class Rep Training is designed to introduce new reps to key concepts and practical tools to help them succeed in their role. Over 1000 student representatives across Ireland have already participated for the 2020-21 academic year, and 99% say they would recommend the training to other reps!

Training covers four key areas:

• student engagement and partnership in the context of the student rep role

• the Student Learning Experience tool, and how it can be used to gather and evaluate feedback from your class

• the class rep feedback cycle

• strategies for communicating feedback effectively

Some of our experienced student trainers have put together a short video below explaining more about the training, and why Class Reps should participate.

Who may attend?

Any student representative from one of NStEP's 26 participating institutions may sign-up to attend training. A full list of our participating institutions can be found at the bottom of this page.

How will online training work?

Training will be held online using Zoom and last for 90 minutes. A link to the Zoom meeting will be provided after registering on Eventbrite. We ask that registered participants be prepared to log into the Zoom training space approximately 10 minutes before the advertised start time.

Training will be peer-led by NStEP's student trainers. Click here to meet our experienced team of student trainers.

Recognition and Future Opportunities

All student reps who complete the training will be awarded an NStEP National Recognition Award. This will be emailed to you using the email address that you provide through eventbrite when registering. By completing the introductory-level training and accepting this award, you will be able to work towards other awards and participate in additional opportunities with NStEP.
