About this event

Join us for a conversation with two rising debut novelists, Megan Nolan and Eliza Clark in conversation with Sasha de Buyl.

Bitingly honest and darkly funny Acts of Desperation by Megan Nolan is a stunning debut novel about a toxic relationship and secret female desire, from an emerging star of Irish literature. Megan Nolan writes fortnightly for the New Statesman and her essays, fiction and reviews have been published in The New York Times, The White Review, The Sunday Times, The Village Voice, The Guardian among others.

Eliza Clark’s Boy Parts is a funny and intensely readable spiral staircase down into the mind of a woman who wears a waist trainer under her clothes and who may or may not be a keen purveyor of ultra-violence. Eliza Clark relocated from her native Newcastle back to London, where she previously attended Chelsea College of Art. She works in social media marketing, having worked for women’s creative writing magazine, Mslexia. In 2018, she received a grant from New Writing North’s ‘Young Writers’ Talent Fund’.
