About this event

Join author Nicola Pierce as she brings you on a journey through time. In her new book O’Connell Street, The History and Life of Dublin’s Iconic Street (The O’Brien Press) she delves into the history and transformation of Dublin’s famous O’Connell Street, from dirt path to the main thoroughfare of the capital city.

Enjoy tales of potted histories of landmark buildings such as the Gresham Hotel, Savoy Cinema and the GPO, along with the rich assortment of residents who once called Sackville Street home. Learn all about the statues and monuments on the street including the two gorgeous monuments to Daniel O’Connell and Charles Stewart Parnell and the variety of individuals celebrated in-between them.
