OMG Im Going to be a Doctor (or a Vet)
Event Information
About this Event
An ever-increasing number of Irish students, who miss out on the points to study Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy, in Ireland, are now going to universities in Continental Europe, to acquire the professional qualifications needed to practice in Ireland as a Doctor, Vet, Dentist or Nurse. For example, there are now 75 programmes in Medicine and 14 programmes in Veterinary Medicine, all taught through English, that enable Irish students to keep their dreams alive of a professional career in diverse health professions.
Many of these programmes are in excellent faculites, some are very affordable and, attractively, your Leaving Certificate points are totally irrelevant!!!
At this event, we will outline these opportunities, and how to access them. and build your applications strategy. Importantly, Irish students currently studying these subjects will be available to listen to and ask questions.
This event is relevant for both sixth years (there is still plenty of time to apply for entry 2021) and fifth years, as well as the families and advisors/counsellors of both groups of students.
Guest speakers from universities, and Irish students studying there, will be available to consult on the night.
Short presentations will be followed by a Q&A with a panel of Irish students currently studying in Europe and then you will have an opportunity to meet universities (and their students) in their own private sessions.
The following universities will be represented:
