Open Call #2, Take Control of Your Energy, Ideas, Matchmaking Session
Event Information
About this Event
Limerick City and County Council, as part of +CityxChange, are offering up to €5000 for your energy-related project. OIC#2 is open to individuals, makers, students, creatives, startups and businesses.
Open Innovation Call #2 is looking for your ideas that contribute to an ambitious goal for the city: to create a positive energy district, a compact area that actually produces more renewable energy than it consumes.
Join us on Zoom on February 24th at 7pm.
We will share a little more about the Open Call process, the kinds of projects that could work, and how to apply.
We'll introduce the different people organising the Open Call, from Limerick City and County Council, University of Limerick, Space Engagers and Colaborativa.
You'll get to meet other interested people, and have a chance to do some "match-making" - finding other people to work with on your idea.
This goal of the +CityxChange project, through the Open Innovation Calls, is to find a way for members of the public to join the work of the project, by demonstrating ideas, pilot projects and prototypes that can be tested in real-life settings in Limerick. Open Innovation Call #2 is focused on software-based projects that could improve how homes, businesses and residents use energy – making energy use simpler, more accessible, and more streamlined.
Citizens, makers, students, creatives, startups, businesses and other stakeholders are welcome to apply for funding and get involved. Eligible projects could include using sensors and data to understand energy use, empowering communities to take control of their energy, visualising financial cases for community grids and renewable energy cooperatives, and other innovations that support communities to take an active part in the energy
Deadline: March 12th at 5pm. Go to MY POINT to apply and for more details, downloads and how to apply.
