Overview
By the end of this workshop, you will have:
(i) Acquired an introductory working knowledge on the principles and practices which inform an oral history project.
(ii) Explored how we are hardwired to share stories: the nature of ‘memory.’
(iii) Discovered how oral history is defined and how it may be used.
(iv) Know more about ethics, informed consent and working with participants.
(v) Find out the golden rules of interviewing: working with participants; active listening; open questions; framework for best practice; preparation and equipment.
(vi) Your next steps.
