Event description

Description

As part of the Free Family Day on Sunday 22nd September in GMIT Castlebar, we are delighted to announce Dr Sharyn Byrne will be delivering a free talk on anxiety in children.

Dr Sharyn Byrne is Senior Clinical Psychologist in the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Castlebar, where she has worked for 6 years. She has also worked in Adult Mental Health Services. Sharyn is specialist in developmental and attachment trauma, and uses up-to-date neuroscientific research to inform her clinical practice. She works with individuals in providing trauma interventions, but the majority of her work involves intervention for the system within which the child functions.

Therefore a lot of Sharyn’s work involves support and intervention for inter-generational attachment trauma. Sharyn is also actively involved in developing resources for children and young people who experience parental Mental Health difficulties and is supporting the national evaluation of Family Talk, an evidence-based intervention specifically designed for families affected by parental Mental Health distress.

This talk is free for all adults and adolescents to attend, but registration is required! There will be time after for Q&A.
