PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE TO THE PEPPER CANISTER CHURCH!

Literary sensation Sally Rooney interviews the acclaimed writer and poet Patricia Lockwood, whose memoir Priestdaddy was named as one of the New York Times Top 10 Books of the Year. Presented by Poetry Ireland.

Described by the New Yorker as a "vivid, unrelentingly funny memoir...both savage and tender", Priestdaddy (Penguin, 2017) weaves the story of Lockwood's family — including her Roman Catholic priest father, who received a special dispensation from the Vatican — with her own coming-of-age. The book also brings to bear her gifts as a poet, mixing the sacred and profane in a voice that’s wonderfully grounded and authentic. Lockwood's two collections of poetry include Motherland, Fatherland, Homelandsexuals (Penguin Poets), a New York Times Notable Book.

Sally Rooney was awarded the Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award for her best-selling debut novel Conversations with Friends (Faber & Faber, 2017). Her second novel, Normal People (Faber & Faber, 2018) is the Winner of the Novel of the Year at the An Post Irish Book Awards, a Sunday Times Bestseller, Winner of the Specsavers National Books Award 2018 (International Author) and the Costa Novel Award 2018. Sally is also the editor of the Irish literary journal The Stinging Fly.
