Feileacain is a fully voluntary organisation which aims to support families bereaved through stillbirth and neonatal death through the provision of Memory Boxes and other resources to maternity services. Each year they provide approximately 900 memory boxes to every maternity hospital in the country. These boxes cost €50 each and are such a great support to families who have lost a baby. In addition to these Memory Boxes, Feileacain also provide counselling, workshops, Remembrance Services, Support Meetings & Befriending Services to everyone who has been affected by the loss of a baby. The cost of running these services vary significantly depending on demand.
As a new project, Feileacain are providing professional quality cameras to every hospital in the country, costing €400 each, to ensure that everyone will be able to take a high quality photograph of their baby. They will then be given an SD card with the pictures to keep forever.
Thanks to fundraisers and donations to Feileacain, every bereaved family in the country, now has access to a " Cuddle Cot" either through a hospital or their community. Each Cuddle Cot costs €2500 and is a temperature controlled cot which allows parents invaluable time with their baby and they can take their baby home.
