Event description
Pavel Haas Quartet

About this Event

“Their sound is, as always, immediately recognisable – partly due to the sheer richness of timbre but also the sense of four personalities at play…at times it’s hard to believe you are in the presence of only four players, so intense is the sound” (Gramophone Magazine)

Since making its Irish début at the 2007 Festival, the Czech Pavel Haas Quartet has gone on to cement its place in the first league of string quartets. Described by Gramophone Magazine as “probably the world’s most exciting string quartet”, this multi-award-winning ensemble returns in 2019 to enchant Festival audiences with a tantalising programme of chamber music greats by Beethoven and compatriot, Dvořák in the picturesque setting of the National Botanic Gardens.

. Dvořák: String Quartet No 14 in A-flat major, op 105

Beethoven: String Quartet in C major, op 59 no 3
