People Handling Instructor Training QQI Level 6

QQI People Handling Instructor Training. Dates: 12th, 13th & 15th of June

Must have a valid QQI Manual Handling Instructor Certificate to do this course.

This course runs for 3 days

Learners will gain the skills and knowledge to successfully deliver their own practical training course.

• Up to date information on human rights, disability and health and safety legislation
• Detailed information with regards to function and structure of the spine, as well as the best practices for keeping the spine healthy Injury occurrence and prevention
• Ergonomics with regards to patient handling
• Patient Handling assessments and implementation of control measures
• Patient Manual handling assessments and handling plans
• Safer handling principles
• Practical inanimate handling techniques
• Practical people handling techniques
• Problem-solving skills Patient Manual Handling equipment usage
• Presentation and Instruction skills

Additional Learning:

All participants need to complete a detailed people handling risk assessment project which is conducted as self-directed learning, this has to be returned within 2 weeks of the course.

Additional Training Opportunity:

All participants are invited back to assist in the delivery of a public people handling course. They can deliver part of the course under direct supervision from a qualified People Handling Instructor, in our training center. Once confident they can deliver a full course under supervision. There is no extra charge for this service.

Course Materials:All learners will receive 2 people handling books which can be used for quick reference and as a way of keeping their skills up to date. Learners will also have access to our state of the art on-line private portal where they will be able to access all the resources necessary for an instructor to deliver their own training course. To access our private portal learners will need to have access to the internet and a computer or laptop.

Training materials include:

- PowerPoint presentations- Administration documents that include sign-in sheets, course notes- Certificate templates- Videos- Appraisal forms- Written test, with answers for your own course- Relevant legislation and guidance documents- Health & Safety publications- Codes of Practice
