The PersonBrain Model™ is a powerful, trauma informed care training that is strengths-based and provides essential positive behavior support skills within a NeuroRelational Model. The NeuroRelational care approach is grounded in research and incorporates the best of practical brain-based concepts, trauma-informed theories, relational practices, ecological psychology and culturally-responsive interventions to help transform challenging behaviors. Given its multi-theoretical design, The PersonBrain Model™ is compatible with a wide variety of training's your organization might already incorporate, helping to blend general practice into one, coherent model. The Model’s unique combination of powerful therapeutic skills is designed to support the comprehensive needs of even the most challenging of children and youth. These therapeutic skills are helpful within school, residential care, juvenile justice, foster care and related settings that serve children and youth from troubled histories.

Target Audience

The PersonBrain Model™ provides universal, trauma-informed support skills that are designed to assist a wide variety of professionals including:​

Social Workers, Social Care staff, Educators, Psychologists, Counsellors, Mental Health Professionals, Youth Workers, Residential Care Staff, School Resource Officers, Juvenile Justice, Foster Carer, And anyone who works with challenging behaviours

Aims

The aims of this training are to:

  • Allow participant explore the importance of understanding how relational experiences impact brain and behavioral development,
  • Emphasise that acquiring NeuroRelational knowledge and techniques can transform challenging behaviour, and
  • Increase awareness of the importance of targeted behavioral support strategies within a trauma-informed care framework.

Learning Objectives

Participant will be able to:

  • Explain how to apply NeuroRelational Reimbursements,
  • Identify the essentials of how people interact with the brain, body, culture and environment to impact one's overall life experience,
  • Articulate how successful exposure to new experiences, positive interpersonal relationships and meeting basic biological needs influences transformation processes.
  • Implement the A.C.T. Q.U.I.C.K.™ approach.

About the Presenter:

Dr. Paul Baker is a developmental neuropsychologist who currently divides his residency between Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA where he is CEO of Accentra Behavioral and Educational Services and Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. He is the developer of The PersonBrain Model, a comprehensive, strength-based neurorelational support model, the co-author of The Hopeful Brain: NeuroRelational Repair for Disconnected Children and Youth, The Minded Brain: An Educational Curriculum to Enhance Social, Emotional and Cultural Experience and Better Behavior…Positively! Over the past twenty-eight years he has accumulated direct experiences a clinical director, special education administrator and foster and adoptive parent.
