Reviews /Press Mentions:

A beautiful album from the Irish Singer/Songwriter, where gentle folk melodies and intricate musicianship blend with introspective vocals to an almost magical effect." Mark Kavanagh - The Star

"With it's overtones of Damien Rice and James Vincent McMorrow, this is an absorbing, uplifting record" - 8/10 Hotpress

"It’s fragile, it’s beautiful, it’s elegant... it’s everything that you’d hope for from an album." - Dan Hegarty 2fm

"The album glistens with musicianship and crackles with gentle, introspective songwriting. Outlines establishes the artist as a very special songwriting talent." 9/10 Stephen White (The Last Mixed Tape Blog)

"This guy I think is bound for glory... if he's not careful"

- John Creedon (Rte Radio 1)

"From the opening swaying notes of ‘The Things You’re Dreaming Of’, Peter Doran’s music seems to fill the venue as the soft ambience of shimmering guitar backs the songwriter’s gently performed vocal... The serene atmosphere of the show, and the performance itself, is brilliantly set with the songwriter’s music perfectly cast against the scenic, calmly lit venue."

- Stephen White for The Last Mixed Tape Blog

BIOGRAPHY:

Currently working with Hallymusic at Arthouse Studios, Ireland, putting the finishing touches to his fifth album. The working title is "Voices". The new album is set for release in 2020 and will feature guest appearances from Haley Heynderickx and Emmett Tinley.

Peter Doran is an independent Singer-Songwriter from Mullingar in the Irish Midlands. Peter's musical life started twenty years ago in a roar of electric guitars, distortion pedals and Marshall amps. But his musical direction took an unplanned shift into acoustic-territory after watching people like Damien Rice, Glen Hansard and Emmett Tinley, perform at "The Stables", an intimate music venue just ten minutes walk from Peter's Home. It was a new century and he had a new fascination: the singer and the song.

At the end of 2014, Peter's fourth album, the self-produced "Outlines", was released to critical acclaim in Ireland. It is the songwriter's most sparse and direct work to date. The warmth of Peter's acoustic guitar and voice creates an intimacy that draws the listener in, but it's lyrics and language that are at the heart of his work.

Alongside his solo work, Peter is also one half of the songwriting Partnership "The Great Trade" with fellow Mullingar musician Brian Murphy. The pair have built up a catalogue of songs, and plan to start on their debut record in the near future.
