Physical Fitness - Introduction to Resistance Training

The workshop is aimed at coaches who would like to introduce some basic forms of resistance training into their regular coaching sessions. The content of the workshop will deal with eliminating some of the myths in relation to resistance training as well as giving coaches the knowledge and capacity to implement some of the basic exercises that will be of benefit to their players. Highlights the importance of the building physical skills for younger players, by getting players to learn how to control their own bodyweight and develop good posture before engaging in strength training. Coaches will explore the skills to develop strength training through partner resisted exercises.
Workshop will cover such elements as:
• Basic motor skills • Early development of coordination core and balance
• Exercises to improve strength of both upper and lower body.
• Partner resistance training
• Injury prevention
Entry Requirements: Course candidates must be 18 years or over.
