This class combines the core strength and body-conditioning of pilates with the graceful, flowing movements and postures of vinyasa yoga.
Pilates concentrates on strengthening the central core and using the abdominal muscles to control different movements. It also encourages you to focus your mind as you exercise the body, gradually improving your general awareness, co-ordination and overall alignment. Paul teaches a dynamic, flowing style ofpPilates integrating classical pilates matwork with postures and sequences from vinyasa flow yoga.
Vinyasa flow yoga is an evolving form of yoga that focusses on intergrating breath and movement, awareness and alignment. Based on the ashtanga primary series but with a more creative approach to the sequencing of postures, and to the transitions between postures, asanas or postures are connected through the breath to form a fluid dance like practice.
All classes are taught by Paul Clancy. Paul is a professional dance artist with more than 20 years experience. He holds an M.A. in Dance Performance from the University of Limerick and is a graduate of the College Of Dance, Dublin. He is qualified to teach both pilates and yoga to advanced level. Paul is a very popular and experienced teacher.
