About this event
Playback theatre is a form of improvisation where the audience share personal stories that are then "played back" by a team of actors and musicians. We aim to create a welcoming space where everyone is heard and community unfolds.
The theme for this month's performance is "Food". Share a story about things you eat. From frozen dinners to nuts and berries, bring us your stories of nourishment. From Glutony to gluten intolerance, bring tales of your daily bread*.
The topic for this performance is prompted by thoughts of abundant harvests this time of year, as well as places where those harvests have failed. According to the World Food Programme, 135 million people suffer from acute hunger. We hope that sharing stories about about what nourishes us may bring us all more connection to those near and far who face food insecurity.
We invite you to bring along a donation of food for Penny Dinners.
*Thank you to "the Moth" for the idea for this theme!
