A webinar for principals and parents about cyberbullying
About this event
The ‘Plugged in Switched Off’ conference this year is all about cyberbullying.
How it’s affecting children's lives in schools and what we, as parents, professionals and principals can do to help prevent this.
We will hear from experts in Barnardos, Webwise' Youth Advisory Panel, representatives from YouTube and Tik Tok and a primary school to hear different perspectives on cyberbullying.
Our solution focused event will be moderated by Anton Savage and we hope an interesting panel discussion will give you food for thought and ideas to bring back to your home life or school on how to address or prevent cyberbullying.
This event will be live on YouTube and recorded to watch back at a time of your choosing.
The Barnardos Online Safety Programme delivers workshops in primary schools to children aged 8-12 about how to be safe online. With support from Google.org, we've been able to speak to more than 18,000 children already this year. In our workshops, we're seeing similar issues arise across the country: problems with group chats, pressure to have followers and likes, exclusion and mean comments online.
At this webinar, we will share our insights and highlight some good practice that schools across the country are doing to help children deal with cyberbullying.
