Mysticism has been described as the art of union with reality, and poetry as the unexpected utterance of the soul (Mark Nepo). This weekend course will explore the writings of poets who offer different approaches to the mystic vision, taking inspiration from Rainer Maria Rilke, Mary Oliver, Leonard Cohen and Marie Howe. We will see how these poets invite us into a relationship with the mystery underpinning our lives. Sessions will be discussion based, with input and opportunities to dialogue creatively with the poems and selected texts

No previous experience of poetry or mysticism is required, but will be most welcome.
