Event description

Description

The Union of Students in Ireland (USI) is delighted to launch a new conference for 2018 focused on engaging postgraduate students and the issues they face, both locally and nationally. Postgraduate Voice: A USI Symposium aims to ensure that postgraduate students are being listened to by their representatives, and presents an important opportunity to bring together students, Students' Unions, institutional staff, government and other agencies to discuss the issues that matter to postgrads.

The Symposium will consider 3 key themes:

- Inclusive Students' Unions

- Inclusive Institutions

- National Voice

There will be a range of workshops, speakers, exhibits, and panel discussions on the day, looking at topics, including:

- Creating environments on and off campus for the postgrad student

- Postgraduates who work and teach

- Postgraduate mental health

- The importance of postgraduate study for all students, our institutions, and our society

- Support services and Students' Unions tailored to postgraduate issues

- Postgraduate engagement, including representing your peers

- National issues such as funding, research, and mobility

A full schedule will be released closer to the date of the Symposium, including details of speakers and workshops.

A venue in Dublin, central to public transport links, will be confirmed in early 2018.

To register, you must be a student or staff member of a USI Member Organisation. To check our membership, see here: usi.ie/about-usi/
