Welcome to Galway's Pregnancy Retreat Day Sunday 20th October @ Urban Wellbeing. Join us for our 5th Wellness Day! Open to all expectant Momma's after 13 weeks to due time.

This day has been totally inspired by you for you. After listening to your stories, anxieties, concerns and amazing feedback from previous events. We've brought together a special team of Birth Professionals and Workers with a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with you. For one day in one venue to help ease and settle you into this pregnancy and beyond!

Whether its first, second or more this day will inspire you to consider your choices and options. Guiding you towards reaching your potential and capabilities during this pregnancy with a sense of confidence and relief! Aspiring to support the best pregnancy, labour and birth experience.

Let us explore, inspire each other, discuss, learn and laugh together! Building a support network early on of like minded expectant Momma's and Birth Workers.

We're proud to support our named charity during this event Mummys Star the only dedicated charity supporting women and their families affected by cancer during pregnancy or within 12 months of giving birtha cancer diagnosis.

What to expect on the day:

09.30am Welcome & Registration.

10 - 11.30 Pregnancy Yoga with Penny gaining confidence mindfully moving, stretching and relaxing the Pregnant Body. Finishing with a Yoga Nidra deep relaxation.

11.30 - 12. 00 SNACK ATTACK!!

12.00 - 12.40 Baibre Brook Gentle Birth Instructor - Doula. Sharing info on a Doula's Role as support during birth and Postnatal with 10 hot tips to achieving a positive birth. (Birth Partners welcome)

12. 45 - 1.25pm Aisling Dixon Homebirth Midwife and Birth Educator will be sharing info on Everything Birth in Galway. Also how women can be a vehicle for change. (Birth Partners welcome)

1.25 - 1.45pm Q & A with Bairbre Brook, Aisling Dixon and Penny Jones.

1.45 - 2.30pm SHARED LUNCH! Please bring a dish to share. Hot drinks provided.

2.30 - 3.05pm Elva McDonagh will be talking about supporting your mental health during and after pregnancy. (Birth Partners welcome)

3.10 - 3.45pm Debbie Fallows Physiotherapist in Women's Health. Debbie will focus on the pelvic floor and its importance in maintain healthy bladder, bowel function and sexual health Pre and Postnatal.

3.55 - 4.20pm Closing the day with Penny. Inviting sharing and sealing in all the positive energy of the day. Please bring your own gym ball to support gentle movement and grounding.

Penny Jones Yoga Teacher
Penny is a lucky Mom of 2 with a background in nursing. Over the last 15 years with much pleasure has commited her Yoga teaching with Pregnant Moms, Parents to be preparing for birth and to Moms and babes. She also trained as a Hypnobirthing Instructor. Penny feels very passionate about supporting and empowering Pregnant and Postnatal ladies with their health, wellbeing and their sense of community.

Debbie Fallows Physiotherapist
Debbie has worked as a Physio for over 20years the last 17 in UHG heading the Womens Health Physiotherapy team. More recently she has divided her time between GUH and Baily Point Physiotherapy Centre. Her interest lies in Pregnancy, Childbirth and the Menopause, in particular those which relate to the pelvic floor.

Bairbre Brooke Doula/ Gentle Birth Educator.
Bairbre is a DONA trained Birth and Postpartum Doula, Gentle Birth Instructor and Pregnancy Massage Therapist. She is a Mother of 4 and has a broad experience of the birthing system both here and in the UK. She passionately believes that all women should have the opportunity to give birth in a positive birthing environment where they feel listened to and respected.

Aisling Dixon
Homebirth Midwife and mother. A midwife for over 20 years having worked in the UK and New Zealand. Aisling is also an IBCLC and trained Hypnobirthing Facilitator.

Elva McDonagh of State of Mind Psychotherapy is a fully accredited counselor specialising in Maternal Mental Health. She runs a private practice in Galway City. Along with her professional training Elva has been on her own journey and with this combination hopes to support as many as possible on theirs.
