GDPR BREAKFAST BRIEFING

This is a must attend event for those serious about preparing their company for the impact of GDPR.

On 14 April 2016 the European Parliament voted to adopt the new data protection law for Europe, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Data protection law will be significantly tightened, and individuals' rights (including to bring claims) will be strengthened. Fines will rise to as much as 4% of global turnover for breach of law, including data breach. With the Regulation due to take effect in 2018 the impact will be felt across all business sectors and organisations need to start assessing immediately how the Regulation will impact and change their current data projection compliance obligations.

Join HOMS Solicitors and Willis Towers Watson on 15th March 2018 for a breakfast seminar on GDPR, with speakers to include Seamus Carroll, Head of the Data Protection Unit, Department of Justice.

Seamus is responsible for data protection policy, including legislation, in the Civil Law Reform Division of the Department. He represented Ireland during the EU Working Group negotiations on data protection reform, which resulted in the General Data Protection Regulation and the Law Enforcement Directive.

This event will focus on identifying the effect of GDPR on your business, developing strategies to address the challenges associated with GDPR and the insurance solution to help protect your business from possible exposures. With contributions from Harry Fehily, Managing Partner at HOMS Solicitors, Michael Murphy, Senior Associate Solicitor at HOMS Solicitors, and Susan Cavanagh, of Willis Towers Watson, it promises to be a must attend for those serious about preparing for GDPR.
