Series of Pride-focused talks hosted by EPIC, The Little Museum, National Library & MoLI. In association with Dublin LGBTQ+ Pride.

Friday June 11th: EPIC - Out in the World

Out in the World: Ireland’s LGBTQ+ Diaspora – Across the generations, Irish LGBTQ+ people have emigrated and found opportunities to live and love abroad. Join Dr Maurice J Casey, Historian in Residence at EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum and the Department of Foreign Affairs, as he shares hidden histories from the vast history of Irish LGBTQ+ emigration.

Friday June 18th: National Library of Ireland - Online tour Living with Pride exhibition

The National Library of Ireland is delighted to present a virtual tour of Living with Pride: Photographs by Christopher Robson. Learn about the man behind the camera and his wonderful collection of 2000 images, which capture protest, Pride, and the LGBTI+ community in Ireland from the years 1992-2007.

Friday June 25th: Museum of Literature Ireland - Reflections on Past/Present/Pride

Past/Present/Pride is a series of conversations that celebrates LGBTI+ writers presented by MoLI, the Museum of Literature Ireland in partnership with UCD's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion programme. Hosted by psychologist Dr Paul D’Alton, Past/Present/Pride reflects on the work of writers that have witnessed significant social change for members of the LGBTI+ communities in Ireland & beyond. In this daytime event, Dr Paul D'Alton and MoLI's Digital Curator, Benedict Schlepper-Connolly, speak to Professor Margaret Kelleher about the series so far, reflecting on interviews with writers Emma Donoghue, Colm Tóibín, Mary Dorcey and Adiba Jaigirdar.

Friday July 2nd: The Little Museum of Dublin - Queer Dublin

As part of the Pride festival, the Little Museum of Dublin is delighted to present the story of Queer Dublin! One important aspect of the lives of many Irish heroes has been airbrushed out of history - their queerness. This talk will chart inspiring societal changes of the 20th Century, through a discussion of key artefacts in the publicly donated Little Museum collection.

Bonus! July 9th: Panel Discussion - Pride Talks History

The panelists of the talks will reunite to reflect on the topics of the series. As always, there will be a dedicated period for questions from the audience during the panel discussion.
