Northern Ireland Space Office and Blue Inspiration are hosting a free workshop which aims to bring together NI’s quality producers and growers with experts in space data to scope out opportunities for collaboration.
Potential applications in this area include investigating whether we can use satellites to:
Tailor fertiliser requirements within and between fields to save money, time and improve CAP compliance?
Quantify hedge volume for carbon sequestration?
Monitor crop health and disease?
Determine the “terroire” of areas within NI?
Measure and improve sustainability?
Monitor and assure food security?
Determine soil analysis across the province?
The workshop will consist of a series of short, non-technical presentations on case studies and success stories, types of space data available and funding opportunities, followed by a round table discussion on what producers and growers need in order to support and grow their business.
This is not a technical workshop! It is an opportunity to see how the space and agricultural industries can work together to find solutions to challenges - working smarter, not harder.
