European Union (EU) "Procurement Opportunities for Start-ups and SMEs"
Anna-Marie Curran is a Partner in the EU, Competition & Procurement Group of A&L Goodbody. She has extensive experience in procurement law and advises a wide range of clients including suppliers, service providers and public bodies on contentious and non-contentious public procurement law and competition matters. The European Commission has appointed Anna-Marie as the Irish expert for the European Assistance for Innovation Procurement (EAFIP) initiative which supports public purchasers in collaborations with the private sector to develop and procure innovative solutions which is particularly relevant in the context of COVID-19.
A&L Goodbody are a leading Irish Law Firm providing a range of commercial legal services and are headquartered in Dublin, with offices in Belfast, London, New York, San Francisco and Palo Alto.

"Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Programme"
Paul joined Enterprise Ireland in 2001. He has worked in a sales and marketing capacity across multiple sectors as would be required given the breadth and depth of companies Enterprise Ireland supports. He has acquired considerable expertise in public procurement procedures both at a European & US (Federal & State) level. Upon his return to Ireland in August of last year he took up a role within the Food Foreign Direct Investment division of attracting leading International Food & Beverage manufacturers. Paul is now manager of the SBIR programme.
Enterprise Ireland is the government organisation responsible for the development and growth of Irish enterprises in world markets. They work in partnership with Irish enterprises to help them start, grow, innovate and win export sales in global markets. Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Ireland is administered by Enterprise Ireland and aims to drive innovation across all sections of the Irish Public Sector via robust engagement with technology rich companies and organisations. SBIR falls under pre-commercial procurement. It enables public bodies to purchase research to stimulate innovation, when goods or services are currently not available in the marketplace.
Health Innovation Hub Ireland is a joint government initiative funded by Enterprise Ireland and supported by the Health Service Executive (HSE) to enable healthcare staff across all disciplines and departments to validate their ideas for innovative solutions, products, services, and process improvements for unmet needs in healthcare. Health Innovation Hub Ireland provide commercial, technical, and clinical feedback on ideas from the healthcare community, and help determine the best way to make them a reality.
Health Innovation Hub Ireland support indigenous businesses and entrepreneurs with early stage or developed solutions by facilitating access to the healthcare professionals qualified to validate their solutions. By means of user feedback sessions or pilot studies, companies and entrepreneurs receive invaluable information on the challenges their solutions must address to gain market acceptance and entry.
Health Innovation Hub Ireland has a national remit with offices in Cork, Dublin and Galway. The Galway office is located on the grounds of University Hospital Galway in the Clinical Science Institute.
