About this event
NB Places are for residents of Ireland
The Vitaflo team in Ireland are kindly offering to fund 3 places, with a plus one each, to attend the ESPKU conference in Venice on the 1st November. See https://www.espku.org/conferences/e-s-pku-conference-2018/ for details on the conference. Vitaflo will cover the cost of return flights, conference registration and accommodation for the lucky people who get to attend. Due to regulations on how Vitaflo can operate, they have given the job of delegating who gets the places to the PKUAI!
It has been decided that the first place will go to the winner of a raffle. To purchase a raffle ticket please donate €5 to PKUAI by purchasing a ticket here on eventbrite. The money raised from this raffle will be used to further the aims of the PKUAI.
The second place is going to someone who has volunteered their time and energy to the PKUAI. The fairest way to pick who from this group gets this place is to do another rafflle! If you have supported PKUAI in anyway please email ASAP your name and how you supported PKUAI to info@pku.ie and your name will be put in the hat.
The third place is going to a PKU researcher, this is to further promote PKU research in Ireland.
The raffles will take place at our meeting on Thursday 30th Aug at the Clayton Airport Hotel 7.30 pm so please get your ticket sorted ASAP to be in with a chance to win!

About the organizer
The PKU Association of Ireland is a voluntary patient association, we exist to support those with PKU and their families. The cost of holding meetings and events, producing information leaflets, developing and hosting a website, and relevant expenses etc etc are all met by individuals paying for it themselves and donations. We do not receive any government grants.
Our purpose is to help and support those affected by PKU, and other metabolic disorders that can be managed just like PKU. We share tips, advice, stories, and recipes and generally support each other as we learn about this rare condition, helping to make it as easy to manage as possible.
Our other goal is to strive continuously for the best possible care for people with PKU. This includes raising awareness of the condition and calling for more proactive and holistic care throughout childhood and into adulthood.
