Rebels & Free Spirits - a whiskey & food tasting event
Event Information
About this Event
J.J.Coppinger’s has created the perfect pairing menu to complement Clonakilty Distillery’s exquisite range of whiskey expressions.
On 27th February, J.J.Coppinger’s will host a whiskey paring evening in collaboration with the Clonakilty Distillery. The event, which will take place in J.J.Coppinger’s and hosted by their whiskey ambassador Sergio, will feature a tasting menu highlighting the finest of locally sourced ingredients. The evening will showcase a blend of the finest Irish whiskeys (Clonakilty’s Double Oak, Port Cask & Single Grain Bordeaux) matched perfectly with locally sourced artisan produce (Ardsallagh goat's cheese, Hederman whiskey cured salmon, Clonakilty black pudding). The event, which will be curated by whiskey expert Ewan Patterson, will offer whiskey aficionados and food lovers the opportunity to come together for a unique and exclusive tasting. Ewan will give expert instruction in the ways of whiskey tasting and the marrying together of carefully selected food and whiskey profiles.
Founded in 2016 by the Scully family, ninth generation dairy farmers from nearby Ardfield, Clonakilty Distillery has heritage, sustainability and traceability at its core. In keeping with its ‘farm to consumer’ values, most of the ingredients used in the production of Clonakilty Distillery ‘expressions’ are sourced locally.
Tickets for the J.J. Coppinger’s Whiskey Pairing Event are €10 and are available online from Eventbrite & from behind the bar.
For those that cannot wait until the end of the month, J.J.Coppinger’s is currently running a promotional whiskey-of-the-week and gin & tonic-of-the-month with Clonakility Distillery for the entire month of February.
