Recreational Cycle Route Planning and Development

This course ran over 2 consecutive days will provide learners with invaluable skills and knowledge to assist in the planning and development of recreational cycling routes. This course will blend a mixture of theoretical and practical elements and learners will be presented with an overview of the policy context for cycle route development in Ireland along with analysing trends in international cycle route development. Upon completion of the course learners will be able to assess the viability of a proposal for development and will be presented with a step by step process for a cycle route project.
The course has been developed to provide learners from a range of backgrounds with knowledge and skills in each of the key areas of Cycle Route Planning and Development and will be of interest to individuals working in the recreation/ tourism/ transport/ cycling area This 2 day course will also incorporate a Site Visit by bicycle where learners will have the opportunity to observe and consider what cycling friendly infrastructure entails.
