Event description

Description

The award-winning documentary Resilience is being screened in the Dean Crowe Theatre in Athlone on Monday October 7th at 10am.

This is the film helping the world wake up to the impact of childhood trauma.

The findings of the Adverse Childhood Effects study, published in 1998, have revealed the most important public health findings of a generation. Scientists now realise that extreme childhood trauma is one of the leading causes of everything from heart disease and cancer to substance abuse and depression. Join us to find out how that was discovered - and what we can all do to act on its insights.

The screening is being hosted by the Midlands ACE’s Hub and Midlands PPFS

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion of expert speakers in cluding Senator Lynn Ruane, Author Gary Cunningham, Eifion Williams Service Director Tusla & Marianne Tierney HSE Child Health Programme, giving all attendees a chance to explore the insights generated by the film.

After the Panel Discussion, delegates will be invited for refreshments and a networking opportunity

We look forward to welcoming you all to this event.

Registration from 9:30, screening commences 10am sharp.
