Event description
Acclaimed film which documents a year spent by Craig Foster forging a relationship with a wild common octopus and the lessons he learned

About this event

These monthly film screenings and discussion circles are all about connecting ideas from nature, ecology, education and other areas and seeing how they interconnect in our lives. To deepen learning we do this as a group of individuals who come together on the night and share our own unique perspectives in a safe, facilitated environment. To this end, each screening is limited to 20 places.

My Octopus Teacher: This film documents one man's unlikely relationship with an octopus, his experiences, the bond they form which allows him into another world and the effect of this mentorship-like relationship provided him, teaching him a lesson on the fragility of life and humanity's connection with nature.

Watch and, afterwards, join in a facilitated talking circle with Judith Lardner and Joe Power (restorative practitioners) and explore how this story can educate us and influence our restorative thinking.
