RIAM/NMI Music and the Collections Series

About this Event

Music and the Collections is a new three-concert series which aims to inspire audiences to engage with the themes and stories of the Museum’s collections through music. This programme builds on a successful partnership between the RIAM and the National Museum of Ireland in commemorating women’s suffrage in 2018.

The opening concert celebrates the creative genius of Eileen Gray, Ireland’s pioneer of 20th Century design and architecture, and that of her musical peers in Paris. Taking place during Open House Dublin 2019, and a stone’s throw from the Eileen Gray exhibition at the Museum, the concert explores the rich musical legacy of France’s iconic capital, the city Gray called home for most of her life by presenting a number of works by her contemporaries.
