Child Welfare and Protection Basic Awarness Course

Tipperary Sports Partnership is facilitating a Child Welfare & Protection in Sport Basic Awareness Training. The course is aimed at sports leaders, children’s officers, parents or anyone working with young people in sport. A central goal for all those involved in sport for young people is to provide a safe, positive and nurturing environment where children can develop and enhance their physical and social skills.Promoting a child-centred environment should go hand in hand with identifying and eliminating practices that impact negatively on safe and enjoyable participation in sport for young people.

Sport Ireland Safeguarding workshops are the workshops recognised across the sporting sector.

The online Safeguarding 1 Workshop is an interactive course which requires participants to have :

  • Good internet connection to allow you to have a video / take part in group discussion
  • Access to email - Zoom link and course materials will be sent out to participants prior to course date in word and PDF.
  • To gain accreditation, it is essential to complete the whole course
  • MAXIMUM 3 persons per club/sports organisation
  • For those aged between 16-18, parential consent is required prior to your attendance on the course

Upon completion of your safeguarding workshop your details will be uploaded onto a site called Sport80 by Tipperary Sports Partnership. Once your details have been uploaded you will receive an email requesting you to log into your profile. Once you have logged into your Sport80 you will receive another email with your relevant certificate attached. You will then have access to your profile on the Sport80 site. Should you complete any other workshops your certificates will be present under the same profile, should your email address remain the same. Your profile will not be duplicated
