Safeguarding 1: Child Welfare and Basic Awareness Course
This course educates participants on the implementation of best practice in protecting the welfare of children involved in sport. The workshop provides introductory information on codes of conduct, bullying, recruitment, etc. as well as child protection guidelines. By following the principles, policy and practical guidelines contained in the Code, sports leaders are playing their part in providing a safe and enjoyable environment in which children can learn and thrive.

Golf Ireland is the National Governing Body for golf on the island of Ireland. Established in 2020 it aims to build on over 125 years of tradition and development of its two predecessors, the GUI and the ILGU – the two oldest golfing unions in the world. Core functions of Golf Ireland include; handicapping administration, running of championships and events, overseeing a High Performance structure for emerging and professional golfers, offering a range of club services and recruitment and retention support.
