Course Outline:

During this two-part workshop, a qualified Safety Consultant from Carraig Safety Consultants will go through the basics of a safety statement review of similar micro businesses.

The workshop will encompass two sessions as follows:

  • Half-day session on safety for small businesses,
  • Half-day session reviewing safety statement online using the BeSMART tool from the HSA.

The programme Covers:

  • What is a risk
  • What is a Hazard
  • Defining safe working practices and identifying hazards and risks
  • How to prepare risk assessments
  • Structure of Safety Statement & related legislation
  • Workplace precautions for sources of hazards: fire, manual handling, electricity, display screen equipment, chemicals and substances, work equipment, movement of people, housekeeping and noise

Booking Criteria:

  • This workshop has been prepared specifically for ELC & SAC Providers. Priority will be given to services based within the Dublin City Childcare Committee catchment area.
  • Maximum booking of 1 person per service
  • Booking is on a first come, first served basis
  • Places are limited to 12 due to the nature of the workshop
  • If this criteria does not apply to you, your booking may be cancelled
