Event description
Embrace your inner Seanchaí (storyteller) in this ghost writing workshop for ages 8 – 14 years old.

About this Event

The Irish are well-known for their love of storytelling. Do you have a scary story or family fable that’s been handed down through the years? Or are you good at using your imagination to come up with an original tale of terror? Come along to this interactive ghost writing workshop!

Suitable for ages 8 - 14 years old and facilitated by EPIC and the Irish Family History Centre, we’ll first evoke Irish storytellers of old by sharing some spooky tales aloud, before taking inspiration from the myths and legends of Halloween to create our own illustrated storybooks to take home. Spooky!

Tickets are limited, so please reserve a space for every child wishing to attend the workshop. There may be some walk in spaces available on the day. Tickets do not include entry to EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum's main exhibition.

About the facilitator:

Shannon Wilson is EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum's Education and Outreach Officer. With a background in mixed media and a masters in visual, material and museum anthropology, Shannon is experienced in devising and delivering a range of fun educational workshops for all age groups, including everything from coding and space camps, to crafting and slime workshops!

Claire Murray is Head of Education for the Irish Family History Centre. She has a degree in History, a Postgrad Diploma in Museums Studies, and over seven years experience working in museum and arts education. Claire has developed and facilitated a variety of education programmes - from coding to crafting - and loves thinking outside the box for new ways for kids to get excited about the world!
