The programme will include operatic arias and duets from Carmen, Puccini's Edgar, La Boheme, Faust, Don Giovanni in the first half and songs and duets from operettas by Victor Herbert, Rudolf Friml, Herbert Stothart and Noel Coward in the second half.
Dublin-born soprano Sandra Oman was the 2004 recipient of the Margaret Burke Sheridan Memorial Award for her contribution to opera in Ireland. Born in the heart of the Liberties, Dublin, she graduated from the DIT Conservatory of Music, Dublin with the Ely O'Carroll Gold Medal, the Conservatory's highest award.
Simon has performed with orchestra, as a soloist, in Ireland and the UK, Schubert and Haydn Masses, Bach’s B Minor Mass, Christmas Oratorio, and various Cantatas, The Mozart Requiem, Saint-Saens Oratorio De Noel, the Chitchester Psalms by Bernstein and the Baritone Solo in Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. Simon currently performs as Onassis in “Casta Diva: The Maria Callas Story” with Regina Nathan…a show that has had sold out performances on each occasion it has been held.
