Join us for on board our festive train for our most popular event of the year the "Santa Specials". Hop on board our 1960s vintage carriages as we step back in time for a journey like no other. As we depart from Dublin either by steam or diesel locomotive, the Christmas songs start and Santa's helpers are busy getting everything ready on board. While travelling to Maynooth, Santa will pay a visit to every child on board and pose for a photo and make sure he knows what all the boys and girls want for Christmas.

Before we know it, we are in Maynooth, Santa will be available on the platform for some more photos as our locomotive changes ends. When we hear the "All Aboard", it's back on to eat some of the chocolates from the selection box that every child ticket gets or enjoy some mulled wine and mince pies which every adult gets with their ticket.

The return journey lasts about two hours in total. Please read the important information below.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION RE: ONLINE TICKETS

BOOKING CONDITIONS:

Tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE once purchased.

If travelling as part of a group - you MUST make one booking to be seated together. Seating requests cannot be made after.

You will receive your tickets by email as soon as your booking goes through. These are your tickets which you must print off for inspection on the day.

Seating allocations will be emailed, no later than 3 days before departure. Please check your emails.

Children aged 2 and under travel for FREE with a paying adult on their lap. Child tickets for 3 to 16 year olds. If a 2 year old requires a selection box from Santa, please purchase a ticket.

Ticket is valid on specific train for a return trip to Maynooth from Dublin.

The special is expected be operated by our magnificent steam locomotive No. 85 "Merlin". In the event of a failure, the train will be hauled by an Irish Rail Diesel locomotive. 

Unfortunately, our train is not wheelchair accessible.

Our train has toilets on board, a full bar will also be in operation throughout the journey.

Please come dressed in your best Christmas clothes! Santa will be there!
