Event description
Learn a traditional dish known as Jollof Rice with plantain with Bolanle on the 15th of May at 6.30pm.

About this event

Would you like to learn how to cook a new dish and learn about a new culture whilst also supporting a great cause? Then why not join our cooks in creating this authentic Nigerian dish on the 15th of May at 6.30pm.

Please note all proceeds for this fundraising event will cover our cook's expenses and training as well as surplus funds going towards The Danú Project which is a recently established organisation that helps asylum seekers through empowerment projects. Their main focus is around supporting expecting mothers and newborn babies in Direct Provision as well as providing mental health support for asylum seekers and youth outreach. Cooking is also great for our mental health so this really aligns with our values.

How it works? This virtual cookalong will take place over Zoom and gives our friends in Direct Provision a chance to share their favourite dishes with people around Ireland. The cookalong will take between 1.5 and 2 hours. Our cooks will show us in a step by step manner how to make this dish while offering their cooking tips along the way. You will be able to ask questions throughout the class and show us your results at the end. When you purchase a class, you will receive a confirmation email containing the list of equipment, ingredients and quantities, and a Zoom link. You will also receive an email with the recipe, allowing you to recreate the dish again.
