Saturday Family Workshop - Pen and Ink, January 10th 2026
Overview
Saturday 10th January 2026 11:30am - 1.00pm
Family Workshop - Pen and Ink
Explore your creativity and join us for an informal session where you look, discuss and respond to Laurence Fagan's Pen & Ink exhibition, specifically focusing on his lthorgraphs of the streetcape and monuments of Drogheda.
From the iconic Boyne Viaduct to St Mary's Bridge to the Magdalen Tower and Mellifont. Compare and contrast more contremporary works by Vivienne Byrne and Richard Moore, each exploring aspects of life along the river Boyne, from salmon fishing to the Hebble Sand dredger late of Drogheda quays, and the drawings by Thomas Markey from the 1950's of the port and Tholsel.
Inspired with the artworks you will draw old buildings and bridges and discuss the monuments of Drogheda.
You will use pencil, paper, and rulers, if so desired, and participants can also actively make their drawing 'age' by using paint.
The session is charged at €6 per family group (Parent(s) + 3 children).
All materials are supplied, and we advise arriving 5 minutes before the official start time of 11:30am, so parents and children can enjoy the full 90 minute workshop.
Please note, this is not a drop-off workshop, and designed for all the family.
