Event description

Description

Seamus Fogarty’s most recent album, The Curious Hand, produced by
Leo Abrahams (Brian Eno, Wild Beasts), was desribed by Q Magazine
‘an album of modern folk songs embroidered with bursts of electronica’,
and featured on most of the knowledgable end-of-year lists in 2017.
Lauded by both press and public alike, it is an album in which Fogarty’s
adopted home city of London provides the canvas for the wide-ranging
palette of colour utilised by his colourful tales and varied soundscapes.
A native of Mayo, Seamus has resided in London for many years and
his songs reflect the experiences of both places. His early releases,
Ducks and Drakes & God Damn You, Mountain, grabbed the attention
of legendary independent label, Domino Records, who signed him up
and released The Curious Hand, which according to The Guardian is full
of ‘magical journeys through fable and
modern life and back again’.
Seamus, accompanied by his band,
kick off their European tour with
this Subterranean Sounds/ Imagine
Festival gig. It is sure to be one of the
musical highlights of the festival.
