Sitting in circle in turbulent times

This series of mindfulness and circle sessions will invite our experiences and stories of this moment, in our own lives and in the midst of upheaval in our societies and on our planet.

This 1.5 hour session will begin with a short (15 min) mindfulness practice of bodyscan, gentle movement or sitting meditation guided by one of its facilitators, before moving into council circle practice.

Council circle practice has developed and flourished in many traditions over countless generations. In our time it's continuing as a way of nourishing ourselves and others by gathering in community to bear witness and to listen and speak from the heart.

Niamh Barrett is a mindfulness facilitator who is affiliated with the Mindfulness Teachers’ Association of Ireland. https://mtai.ie/teachers/niamh-barrett/

She is a student of the Way of Council (circle facilitation) as a core mindfulness practice and works to bring it more deeply into her life by regularly attending council circles, training workshops and retreats and by offering circles in her local community of Bray and online.

P lease feel welcome to get in touch with Niamh with any questions at 086 2857212 or hello@showingup.ie
