Event description
A series of free, online, interactive, one-hour workshops to go with our SHE Guidebook to Running in the 2024 Local Elections.

About this event

To accompany our SHE Guidebook to Running in the 2024 Local Elections, we have designed a series of free, online, interactive, one-hour workshops that take you through all the different things you need to know and think about, when to think about them, and how to do them. We want to do this in as practical a way as possible, and in a way that works with your life so the workshops are happening at four different times on four different days of the week. When registering you can select the time and day that works best for you to have an hour to yourself, and this will be the base group you will be with every month. You can change to a different time and day in any month that your base group time doesn't suit you.

*The 8pm on Mondays is at capacity so please only select it if none of the other options work for you. Thank you!*

The first series of seven workshops start in November 2021 (starting the week of 22nd November)and there will be one workshop every month until May 2022. There will be a half day revision workshop at Easter 2022 for anyone who misses a workshop, and we will repeat the entire series in 2023.

See Her Elected is funded to empower women to run in the local elections. But this series of workshops is not limited to women who are thinking of being candidates. Just as important are the women who will get behind them as part of their campaign teams. So if you see yourself as belonging to any of the categories below, then register and come along!

1. You could see yourself (maybe!) as a candidate in the 2024 local elections, but don’t know where to start.

2. You would like to know what might be involved before making your mind up.

3. You have made up your mind that you want to be a candidate but would like a practical toolkit covering everything you need to plan for.

4. You can never see yourself as a candidate but you would love to be involved in getting a woman in your area elected to the council.

5. You are interested in politics, would be fascinated to know the nuts and bolts of running for election, and who knows – might find yourself open to being a team member or being the candidate a few workshops in!

Our catchment area includes the counties of Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Mayo, Roscommon, Longford and Westmeath. All women in those counties are invited to attend our workshops.

A number of places are reserved for women from outside our catchment area who have participated in other See Her Elected events such as SHESchool. Contact Michelle at or call 0860320455 if you would like to have a chat about joining in.
